Spring is a hectic time of year for Ripley Designs. It appears that my clients get a brand new marketing budget that they can't wait to dig into and it's calendar time. For the past two years, I have been involved in the compiling and creation of the Knitting Pattern-A-Day and Crochet Pattern-A-Day Calendars.
These are both very hefty projects and include sourcing over 200 patterns each from all over the world! Then organizing and sending the patterns to the pattern editor to be reviewed for mistakes. Then, as the patterns make their way back to me, it's time to lay-out the 300+ page calendars. Once the files are ready to go, it's off to the printers!
At this point you would think we were done, but oh, not quite yet. Before I can burn a back-up and move onto the next years calendar, I need to send out emails to all of our contributors that were included in the calendar to let them know what date their pattern will appear.
To learn more about the calendars and the submission process, please check out the website at: http://www.knittingpatternaday.com
So, today, I am happy to say that the Knitting Pattern-a-Day Calendar is off to the printers and we are about half way through the Crochet Pattern-A-Day Calendar. By the end of the month both calendar will be off and I can begin emailing my list of contributors.
